BABY DEDICATION
WHAT ARE BABY DEDICATIONS?
A baby dedication is when parents make the commitment before the Lord to raise their child(ren) according to God’s Word. To dedicate your baby back to God is to declare that you will train this child in the ways of the Lord, choosing to help them grow spiritually and guide them in the ways of the Lord.
Parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord before the church congregation to do everything within their power to raise the child in a Godly way – prayerfully – until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to follow Christ.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

THE PROCESS
Parents who make this vow, or commitment, are instructed to raise the child in the ways of God and not according to their own ways. Some of these responsibilities include teaching and training the child in God’s Word, demonstrating examples of Godliness, discipling the child according to God’s ways and praying earnestly for the child.
At FaithLife, we believe that baby dedication is an act of the parents, whereas water baptism is an act of the individual before God.
A baby dedication ceremony can take the form of a public at our Saturday Services or private at a Lifegroup or at your home with your Lifegroup/church family. You can state your preferred option down below in our application form.
